Gene Scott - CURRICULM VITAE

Through his Newport Beach, California patent law practice, Gene Scott provides strategic portfolio management, patentability research/assessment, and patent preparation and prosecution in more than 40 countries. Gene has personally prepared and filed more than 2,500 patent applications in North and South America., Europe, Eurasia, the Far East and the Gulf States. Gene also guides clients in new product introductions, product marketing and funding activities.

Gene, a resident of Irvine, California, holds the degrees of: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, City College of New York, and Master of Science, Union College, Troy, New York. He is a "Certified Manager" (Institute of Certified Managers, Harrisonburg, Virginia). He is admitted to the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent. Previously, he specialized in new product introductions and large scale technology transfers for the General Electric Co., Materials Research Corp., and Leybold-Heraeus GMBH, Hanau, Germany. His hands-on engineering career at General Electric and Rockwell International included the management of product research & development teams, and investigations in the fields of plasma physics, physical and chemical vapor processes, semiconductor manufacturing, instrumentation, and devices. He is the principal inventor and developer of the dual ion beam sputter deposition process; US 4793908, and has developed applications in tribology, and optics. He was Marketing Director for the Equipment Division of MRC, Orangeburg, N.Y.

Gene is the creator and founder (1990) of Inventors Forum®, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of entrepreneur-inventors. He was Official Correspondent (USA) for the Salon International Des Inventions De Geneve, and is a member of the Tech-Coast Venture Network, a member of the Orange County Patent Law Association and a past board member of the AVS division of the American Institute of Physics. He has published a variety of papers and articles on high technology, business and intellectual property matters and has hosted over 100 seminars on invention and entrepreneurial subjects. He is the creator of the radio show "Inventing for Income" previously heard over KIEV Radio, Glendale, California and has produced and hosted 18 cable television programs entitled "What A Great Idea". Gene previously taught "New Invention Entrepreneurship" at Learning Tree University, Irvine, California. In 1988 he was included in Who's Who in the West.
